The elements appear in my object are lines, space, colour, texture, and shape. The principles appear in my object are repetition/pattern, emphasis, unity, and contrast. Lines outline the different parts of the earphone such as the cable, logo, and ear bud. The earphone its self are just made of different geometric shape and a repeated organic shape (the earphone logo). For example the cables are just made of squares, while the ear pieces are made of circles and domes. Colours only apply to my cloured version of the earphone. The colours bring the earphone to life and indentify the texture of the ear pieces. There is more positive space then negative space. One repeating shape I found was the Skullcandy logos which have two on each ear pieces and one for the microphone button. The emphasis of the picture was the earphone and the two part of the earphone have unity because they are from the same earphone. There’s more contrast in the black and white and the colour version. The contrast shows the different parts of the earphone making them stands out such as the logo.

For the majority of the outlines, I used the pen tool to trace it and for the circles and squares, I used the ellipse tool. I would makes layers such as “the cables” and “the left ear bud”, and then I would start making closed shape on the area I want to fill to colour. Next, I would select the shape, and select on the colour I wanted at the side bar. For my sketches, I use the same tools except the, and the addition of the stroke function (making the line thicker) and path> outline stroke (turn my thick line into a shape).

I think the coolour version is the best design because there’s more life and texture to it by adding the colours. It brings out all its visual features such as the logos throughout the entire earphone, the microphone button, and the little details like those circle indent on the ear piece. One that’s not as effective is my sketch of the earphone. It’s lacking colours or it doesn’t feel that real and there’s barely any texture to it. It’s just really plain.

This is my first tracing of the leaf guy on illustrator. The top is a JPEG and the bottom is a PNG. I notice that there's a little color differences and that PNG can be zoom in further

I chose this picture because like it the bright colours they used, the mechanical details, and the feel of the piece. The colours really helps bring out the main focus which is the robot (aka, Gundam Akatsuki). It also help show the scenery of the Gundam which is in the middle of a battle field. The mechanical details and details in general brings out the texture of the Gundam, the clouds, and the chaos that's happening. The Gundam in this piece was projected as like a savior or a god coming down to save people because of the colour gold, clouds, and the brightness of the piece.
